Welcome to the Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool, a parent-run school, with a teacher-led curriculum, and children-led play.
Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool in Arlington currently has an opening in our 3/4 year old program for this school year, 2009-2010. We are currently looking for a boy to fill this opening in order to ensure appropriate gender balance in the class. Enrollment in this program would guarantee a spot in the Dinosaur Pre-kindergarten class for the 2010-2011 school year
The Pony and Penguin 3/4 year old classes meet three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:15am until noon, with an optional additional 70 minutes for lunch and multi-age free play. Children must be at least 3 years old, born by September 30, 2006, in order to qualify for this opening. The curriculum is learning-through-play and there are 2 classes with 9 children in each of the 3/4s classes.

About Rock Spring Cooperative Preschool
Founded in 1943 by a group of caring and inventive mothers, Rock Spring is the oldest cooperative preschool in Arlington. We offer age-specific classes for one- to five-year-olds, as well as an Extended Day Program and Summer Camp.
Our learning-through-play philosophy provides a stimulating environment for development and growth with an emphasis on nurturing each child’s individuality, self-esteem, and joy in learning. We believe the preschool child’s intellectual, social, and emotional growth is best fostered through active play guided by qualified teachers.
As a member of our cooperative preschool, parents have an unparalleled opportunity to observe, support, and guide their children’s growth. Parents also share the day-to-day responsibilities of running and managing the school.
