Since 1985, Rock Spring has been offering its very popular Extended Day Program. Available to children who are at least three years old and who are potty trained, it provides a chance to extend the fun until 1:10 p.m.
Activities include quieter free-choice play inside and more active play outside on the Playground. It gives children from different classes and of different ages a chance to know each other. Children also eat lunch, which is supplied from home.
There are three Extended Day sessions held throughout the school year, during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The program is offered at least three days per week, although additional days may be added based on parent interest and teacher availability. A lottery is used to fill Extended Day slots when enrollment requests exceed available space. There are no parent co-oping responsibilities for Extended Day.
