Rock Spring Preschool is managed by a Board of Directors that is elected annually from the current parent membership. Parents are required every year to either serve on the Board or to play an active role on an assigned Board member committee. Every member’s willingness to serve is essential in maintaining Rock Spring’s outstanding and unique program. The Board and their committee members oversee the operation of the school program and work throughout the calendar year.
Board positions and the associated committees include:
President–works with the staff to oversee the daily functions of the school
First Vice President–manages all staffing concerns
Second Vice President–maintains the building, equipment, and grounds
Secretary–maintains the records for the board, and records minutes at board meetings
Treasurer–manages the funds and budgets of the school
Membership–handles the application process for new students
Parent Education–ensures parents meet the school and state education requirements
Fundraising–raises capital necessary for school operations
Hospitality–coordinates refreshments for various events
Communications–produces monthly newsletter and maintains website
Special Programs–manages Extended Day, Summer Camp and other special progams for the school
Co-op Scheduler–develops the schedule for co-opers each year
Health Coordinator–tracks and maintains health records for students and co-opers
